Frequently Asked Questions

  • What can I expect during my first therapy session?

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, relevant history, and your goals for treatment. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions and decide whether our services feel like a good fit for your needs.

  • How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy may be helpful if you are experiencing emotional distress, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, difficulty coping, or patterns you would like to better understand or change. You do not have to be in a crisis to benefit from therapy. A consultation or initial appointment can help determine whether our services are appropriate for your needs.

  • How long are therapy sessions?

Sessions are scheduled for approximately 45-minutes. The length and frequency of sessions may vary based on your clinical needs, treatment goals, and the type of service provided.

  • How often will we meet?

The frequency of therapy is individualized. Some clients benefit from weekly sessions, while others may meet less frequently as they make progress. Your treatment plan will be based on your goals, needs, and clinical recommendations.

  • How long will I need therapy?

There is no single timeline for therapy. The length of treatment depends on your goals, needs, progress, and the concerns being addressed. Your progress and treatment goals will be reviewed periodically, and you may decide with your therapist when you are ready to reduce or conclude services. Remember therapy is a journey, not a destination.

  • Do you accept insurance?

This practice does not accept insurance. Working outside of insurance networks protects your privacy (no diagnosis or treatment details are shared with insurance companies), which allows for more flexibility in the length and pace of treatment, and ensures that care decisions are made between you and your provider , not dictated by what an insurance company deems necessary. Sessions are self-pay, and all major debit and credit cards are accepted for payment. EAP plans, as well as HSA and FSA cards, are also accepted. If you have out-of-network benefits, a superbill can be provided upon request so you may seek reimbursement directly from your insurance company.

I am here to help. If you have questions about services, scheduling or whether therapy may be right for you, please contact the practice.
